Online Men's Sex & Pornography Recovery Group in Illinois
You do not have to keep trying to change this alone.
A small, therapist-led group for men working on pornography, unwanted sexual behavior, secrecy, and the relationship concerns that can follow. Led by Rob LeLaurin, LCPC, CSAT.
Begins Wednesday, January 13, 2027
Wednesdays · 6:00–7:30 PM Central
Online · Illinois only · 6–8 men · Maximum 8
Closed cohort · 16 weeks
$75 per 90-minute meeting · Self-pay
Individual screening is required. An inquiry does not commit you to joining.

When another promise to stop no longer feels like enough.
You may have tried limits, willpower, or keeping everything to yourself. Perhaps your partner has discovered something, or you are reaching out before that happens. You may know you want a different relationship with pornography or sexual behavior without knowing what to call the problem.
This group offers a regular place to examine what happens, take responsibility for your choices, and practice responding differently—with professional guidance and other men doing their own work.
You do not need to identify as a “sex addict.” Concern about pornography alone can be a reason to request a screening. Frequency, distress, your values, and the effect on your life all deserve an individual conversation.
Who this group is for
The cohort is for adult men who want help with recurring sexual behavior concerns and are willing to participate in a consistent therapeutic group. Concerns may include:
- Pornography use or other sexual behavior that feels difficult to control.
- Repeated secrecy, acting-out patterns, or unsuccessful attempts to stop.
- Infidelity, discovery, and the work of taking responsibility after betrayal.
- Shame, isolation, or difficulty understanding what drives the behavior.
- Wanting greater integrity and healthier relationships.
A partner may have encouraged you to seek help. Screening gives you room to discuss your own goals and reservations; pressure from someone else is not a substitute for your informed participation.
What happens during the group?
Weekly 90-minute meetings combine guided discussion, workbook-based reflection, and attention to how patterns show up in daily life and relationships. The work includes identifying triggers and responses, examining secrecy and shame, and developing practical recovery goals.
Members have opportunities to speak honestly, hear different perspectives, and practice accountability without humiliation. You are not expected to share your entire history at the first meeting. Participation and boundaries will be discussed during screening and onboarding.
A closed cohort means the same small group moves through this 16-week period together, rather than functioning as a drop-in meeting. The commitment creates continuity; it does not promise that recovery will be complete in 16 weeks.
Facing the Shadow and the 30-Task Model
The group uses Patrick Carnes’s Facing the Shadow workbook as an important part of the process, within the broader 30-Task Model of recovery. The workbook focuses on the model’s first seven tasks. This cohort is not presented as completion of all 30 tasks.
The material provides a structure for examining sexual behavior patterns and beginning recovery work. Rob will guide discussion in relation to members’ needs; the workbook supports psychotherapy rather than replacing an individual assessment.
Workbook edition and purchasing instructions will be clarified before enrollment. Read the workbook’s description.
Meet your facilitator
Rob LeLaurin, LCPC, CSAT, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist at Far More Therapy. His work includes pornography and unwanted sexual behavior, compulsive sexual behavior, trauma, shame, and relationship concerns.
CSAT is a specialist certification administered by IITAP. Rob’s style is warm and direct, with room for both understanding the pattern and taking responsibility for its impact.
Privacy, fit, and care beyond the group
This is professional group psychotherapy, not a peer-led support meeting or church program. Before joining, Rob will discuss confidentiality, its limits, group expectations, and telehealth arrangements. Members are expected to protect one another’s privacy. No therapist can guarantee the behavior or confidentiality of other group members.
You must be physically located in Illinois for every session and have a private place to participate. Participants may continue working with their existing individual therapist while participating in the group. The group can complement individual or couples therapy when clinically appropriate; it does not automatically replace either.
Screening also considers whether outpatient group therapy is the right level of care. Immediate safety concerns, a need for more intensive support, or an inability to participate privately or consistently may call for a different starting point. Clinical suitability is assessed individually.
Sixteen weeks, beginning together
The cohort meets Wednesdays, January 13–April 28, 2027, from 6:00–7:30 PM Central, assuming no skipped weeks. It is a closed therapy group, not a drop-in meeting.
Early meetings focus on group agreements, goals, secrecy, and understanding patterns. The middle of the program explores consequences, accountability, recovery boundaries, and relapse prevention. Later meetings address conditioned patterns, healthy sexuality, support systems, and a personal plan for continuing recovery. Rob will pace the work according to clinical needs; participants are not promised completion of every task in the broader 30-Task Model.
Questions before you reach out
Can I join after infidelity or a recent discovery?
You can request a screening. We will discuss what is happening now, immediate concerns, and whether this group fits alongside other support. Participation does not guarantee reconciliation or require your partner to trust you before they are ready.
What does compulsive sexual behavior mean?
It generally describes persistent difficulty controlling sexual urges or behavior that causes significant distress or disruption. A marketing page cannot determine whether this describes you. Screening explores your experience without requiring an identity or diagnosis in advance.
Is this group Christian or faith-based?
The group is professional psychotherapy and welcomes men with different beliefs, including Christian and non-Christian participants. Faith and personal values may be discussed where relevant; sharing a particular religion is not a requirement.
Is the group only for men?
Yes. This particular cohort is designed for adult men. You can contact Far More Therapy about other care options if this group is not the right fit.
Can I join from Chicago or elsewhere in Illinois?
Yes. All meetings are online, and participants must be physically located in Illinois during clinical services. There are no in-person group appointments or physical Chicago group meetings.
What happens during screening?
Rob will discuss your goals, relevant concerns, current support, privacy needs, and availability for the Wednesday cohort. You can ask about the process, fees, and expectations. Screening helps determine fit and does not guarantee admission.
What does it cost? Can I use insurance?
The self-pay rate is $75 per 90-minute meeting, ordinarily paid per meeting. Sixteen meetings total $1,200; full payment upfront is not required. Any separate screening or workbook cost will be clarified before enrollment.
Insurance coverage for group psychotherapy varies by plan and benefits. Eligibility, network participation, telehealth group benefits, and your responsibility must be verified before using insurance. Coverage for individual therapy does not establish coverage for this group.
What if I miss a meeting or need to leave early?
Enrollment is a commitment to the full 16-week cohort. Your place is reserved, and new participants generally cannot replace members after the group begins. Please discuss foreseeable absences during screening. Written attendance and withdrawal terms, including any applicable fees and exceptions, will be reviewed before you commit to enrollment.
What if the January group is full?
You may request information about a future cohort. Joining an interest list does not reserve a place or commit you to treatment. Any future schedule will be confirmed separately.
For referring clinicians and partners
This cohort may offer structured additional support for a man working on his own sexual behavior while a partner receives separate care. It is not a betrayed-partner support group, a couples intervention, or a substitute for the affected partner’s treatment.
Clinicians can share this page directly. Please do not send another person’s clinical history through the website inquiry form. Any coordination of care will require the appropriate consent.
