Frequently Asked Questions
FAQS
What is your typical process for working with clients?
The most important factor in therapy is not just the approach—it’s how you experience the person you’re working with.
My work is grounded in a thoughtful, engaged relationship where you can speak honestly about what’s actually going on. We focus on understanding the patterns underneath your struggles—relational wounds, internal dynamics, and the ways you’ve learned to cope.
My style balances careful listening with direct guidance. Over time, we make sense of your story, clarify what needs to change, and move toward shifts that hold beyond the session.
What should a new client know about working with you?
You can expect a space that is both grounded and honest.
My goal is for you to feel understood, while also being challenged in ways that lead to real movement. We won’t stay at the level of surface insight. We’ll look at how your past experiences, relationships, and internal patterns continue to shape your present.
I work with individuals navigating unwanted behaviors, anxiety, shame, and complex relational dynamics. Much of the work centers on helping you understand what’s been difficult to change on your own—and creating a different way forward.
What are your specialties?
I specialize in working with:
Unwanted sexual behaviors and compulsive patterns
Childhood and developmental trauma
Religious and spiritual trauma
Anxiety, depression, and shame
Complex family dynamics and relationship difficulties
What are your fees?
Individual counseling: $175 per session
Couples counseling: $225 per session
Do you accept insurance?
Yes.
I am in network with Aetna, BlueCross and BlueShield, Oscar Health, Oxford, and UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH.
How do I get started?
The first step is a brief, 10-15 minute consultation.
We’ll talk about what you’re dealing with, what you’re looking for, and whether this feels like a good fit. You don’t need to have everything figured out—this is simply a place to start.
If it makes sense to move forward, we’ll schedule an initial session. If not, I’m happy to point you toward other options that may be a better fit.
What can I expect if I do couples therapy?
The first few sessions are structured to help us understand both the relationship and each individual within it.
Session 1: Joint session to understand concerns, goals, and dynamics
Sessions 2–3: Individual sessions with each partner
Session 4: Feedback session with themes, patterns, and a clear direction forward
From there, the work focuses on the deeper patterns shaping the relationship—especially around connection, trust, and communication.
What approaches do you use?
I tailor therapy to the person or couple in front of me. My work integrates several evidence-based approaches, including:
Emotionally Focused Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Trauma-Focused Narrative Therapy
Internal Family Systems (Parts Work)
Relational Psychodynamic Therapy
Gottman Method Couples Therapy
EMDR Trauma Therapy
Are sessions in-person or virtual?
All sessions are currently held via secure telehealth.
Many clients find that virtual sessions allow for the same level of depth and connection, with added flexibility. We can talk through any questions you have about this during the consultation.
What is teletherapy like?
Sessions take place through secure, HIPAA-compliant video or phone.
In practice, clients often find they’re able to access the same level of honesty, insight, and change as in-person work. For many, it becomes a comfortable and effective way to engage in therapy.
