Bring your whole experience.
You may want a therapist who understands Christian language and communities. You may be wrestling with shame, difficult church experiences, or the distance between what you believe and how you feel.
We can explore those experiences alongside the emotional and relational concerns that brought you to therapy. You do not need to set aside your faith—or defend it—to be understood.
A therapist who understands the context.
I’m Rob LeLaurin, LCPC, CSAT. Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years in pastoral ministry. I also hold graduate degrees in counseling psychology and biblical and theological studies.
That background helps me understand why questions of faith can feel deeply personal. My role in therapy is to support your clinical goals and your ability to make thoughtful choices. We will discuss how much, or how little, you want spirituality included.
Faith-informed work may sit alongside anxiety therapy, trauma therapy, or work on unwanted sexual behaviors. We will not assume that a psychological struggle is simply a failure of faith.
Room for faith, doubt, and a changing story.
Do I need to be Christian?
No. You are welcome whether you identify as Christian, hold another faith, are uncertain, or are not religious. Spiritual integration is guided by your preferences and goals.
What if religion has been painful?
You can talk about spiritual or religious wounds without pressure to return to a particular community or resolve your questions in a prescribed way. We can consider the impact of those experiences and what support you need now.
