Therapy for men in Chicago.
You may be used to being the dependable one. That does not mean you have to keep handling everything alone.

When keeping it together is wearing you down.
You might be doing well at work while feeling distant at home. Stress may come out as irritability, withdrawal, or a habit you keep promising to change. You may find it easier to explain a problem than to say what it feels like.
Men come to therapy for many reasons. There is no single way to be a man, and no expectation that you should fit a particular story. We begin with what is difficult in your life and what you want to be different.
A direct conversation, without a performance to maintain.
I’m Rob LeLaurin, LCPC, CSAT, the therapist behind Far More Therapy. My style is warm and direct. I work with adults on the emotional and relationship patterns beneath the immediate concern, while paying attention to practical changes in everyday life.
You do not need to be fluent in the language of feelings. We can start with a recent argument, the pressure you feel during the week, or the ways you disconnect when something becomes difficult. Together, we look at what happens, what it means to you, and how you might respond differently.
What we might work on.
Pressure, worry, and self-criticism.
When your sense of worth depends on getting everything right, it can be hard to rest. Anxiety therapy can help you examine expectations and the patterns that keep worry going.
Closeness and recurring conflict.
We can explore what makes it difficult to ask for what you need, stay present during disagreement, or feel connected. Individual work focuses on your patterns; couples therapy involves both partners.
Unwanted behaviors and shame.
If pornography or other sexual behaviors feel difficult to control, my CSAT-informed work offers focused support. We can talk about behavior honestly without making shame the motivation for change.
History that still shapes the present.
Earlier relationships and painful experiences may affect how you handle vulnerability now. Trauma therapy offers room to explore that history at a collaborative pace.
Questions about getting started.
Can I come if I have never been to therapy?
Yes. A consultation is a chance to ask how the process works. You can begin with what led you to reach out, even if you are not sure how to describe it.
Do I need to be in a crisis?
No. Persistent dissatisfaction, disconnection, or a pattern you want to understand can be a reason to seek help. We will discuss your goals and whether my approach fits.
Do you offer men’s therapy in Chicago?
I offer online therapy to men located in Chicago and throughout Illinois. All appointments are virtual; there are no in-person appointments. You will need a private place where you can speak freely.
Can we discuss faith or doubts?
Yes, if you want to. My background includes pastoral ministry, and faith-informed therapy is available. You do not need to be religious to work with me.
You can start without having it all figured out.
You can begin with what is affecting you now. You do not need to share your full story in the inquiry form.
